Reqs Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 11, 2026

Reqs is a simple app for sharing recommendations with people you actually know. It is built to collect as little as possible. This policy explains exactly what we collect and why.

What we collect

What stays on your device only

Your ratings of recommenders, your mute and block lists, and your feed preferences are stored only on your phone and are never uploaded.

What we do not do

Who can see your content

Your recommendations are visible only to signed-in users of Reqs who have added your phone number to their contact list in the app. High fives are anonymous — people see how many, never who.

Service providers

Reqs runs on Google Firebase (authentication, database, and push notifications). Google processes data on our behalf under its Firebase privacy terms.

Data retention and deletion

You can delete your account at any time inside the app (People tab → Account → Delete account). This permanently removes your profile (name and phone number), your contact list, your push notification token, your recommendations, and your high fives from our servers. You can also remove any individual recommendation you posted, or any contact from your list, at any time. See how to delete your account.

Children

Reqs is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Where we operate

Reqs is operated from Canada and handles personal information in accordance with applicable Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA).
